Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Copper Beeches at Bartow-Pell Mansion

Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Copper Beeches at Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum Outdoor Theater under a Tent!

Adapted by Tal Aviezer from the classic story by Arthur Conan Doyle

Red Monkey Theater Group, M&M Performing Arts and Theatre 5 Productions brought another site-specific Sherlock Holmes performance to Bartow-Pell Mansion in August 2020 (yes, during the Pandemic). Sherlock Holmes (Tal Aviezer) and Dr. Watson (Michael Muldoon) were on a journey to the sinister Copper Beeches (played by the inimitable Bartow-Pell Mansion), where a desperate young governess (Amy Frey) found herself at the center of a baffling mystery. Performances  were at Bartow-Pell Mansion-Museum at 895 Shore Road, Pelham Bay Park, Bronx, NY 10464. Directed by Tal Aviezer, the cast also included Sean Coffey, Melinda O’Brien and Derek Tarson with stage management by Emmy Schwartz and Nan Weiss.

Performances were outside on the veranda behind Bartow-Pell Mansion with a view of the beautiful gardens. See the performance program.

Please Note, in the interests of safety, the show was staged completely outside, on the large veranda immediately behind the house. This allowed for proper social distancing and the use of the safer outdoor environment. Audience members were required to wear masks throughout the performance. Actors, who did not wear masks, maintain social distance from the audience.
